This journal is published by the Russian Geographical Society, Lomonosov Moscow State University Geography Department, and the Institute of Geography (Russian Academy of Sciences). It was founded in 2008 and since 2009 4 issues per year are published.  Every issue of the journal covers both original research papers and reviews. Journal issues are distributed through subscriptions, library exchange between leading universities, and by direct mailing orders throughout the world. Publication requirements include (1) up-to-date key issues in Geography; (2) global and regional scope of the studies; (3) high quality of the original papers; (4) papers and graphs; (5) positive reviews. The authors include scientists from different continents all over the world.  Since 2010 it is an open-access journal.
