This study aims to evaluate the response of southern boreal forests to climate warming at local scale. Estimating the impacts of climate change on mountain boreal forests requires a more complete accounting of tree growth/climate interaction. We used both remote sensing and field data. Field measurements were made from the upper to lower timberline of dark deciduous forest in 2005 and 2012. The remote sensing datasets were generated from LANDSAT scenes of different dates (19.08.1988, 25.06.1992 and 18.08.2011). For estimation of forests changes, we used values of NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and NBR (Normalized Burn Ratio).</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>climate change</kwd><kwd>mountain forests</kwd><kwd>cedar sapling</kwd><kwd>wildfires</kwd><kwd>boreal forest dynamics</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Atlas: Ekonomicheskij potencial Respubliki Tyva (Atlas of the Tyva Republic: Economic potential of the Tyva Republic (2003–2004) (2005) – Editors V.I.
